Frequently Asked Questions
Does this tool work with all AI platforms?
Yes! This tool works with output from any AI platform—ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or any other AI tool. It handles markdown-formatted text, but also works with plain text. Simply copy the AI's response and paste it into the input panel.
Do I need to use markdown format?
No! While the tool is optimized for markdown (the format most AI tools use), it also works with plain text. If your AI output uses # for headings or | for tables, that's markdown—but even plain text will be formatted and ready for Word.
What happens to my data?
Nothing. This tool runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your content never leaves your computer—it's not uploaded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. Even F&T Labs can't see what you're formatting.
Why do I need this if I can just paste directly into Word?
AI-generated markdown doesn't paste well into Word. You lose table formatting, heading hierarchy breaks, and styles are inconsistent. This tool converts markdown into properly structured HTML that Word recognizes, preserving F&T Labs' branded table colors (green headers, alternating rows) and maintaining proper heading levels for document navigation.
Can I edit the formatted output before copying?
Yes! The output panel is editable. You can click into it and make changes before copying to Word. This is helpful for quick tweaks or removing sections you don't need.
What formatting is preserved when I paste into Word?
Tables are fully preserved with F&T Labs branding: green headers (#255B2C) and alternating cream rows. Heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) is maintained so Word's navigation pane works correctly. Lists, bold, and italics carry over. Fonts and font sizes adapt to your document's existing styles.
Why do my headings look different than the preview?
The preview shows F&T Labs' styling (green headings, Crimson Pro font). When you paste into Word, headings use your document's Heading 1, Heading 2, etc. styles. This is good—it means the content matches your existing document. The important part is the heading hierarchy is correct, so you can use Word's navigation and table of contents features.
Can I customize the table colors?
The tool is set up for F&T Labs' brand colors (green headers, cream alternating rows). If you need different colors, paste into Word first, then select the table and modify the colors using Word's table design tools. The structure and formatting will be intact, making it easy to adjust.
What if my table doesn't look right in Word?
Make sure you're pasting into a blank area (not inside another table or text box). If borders look off, right-click the table in Word → Table Properties → Borders and Shading to adjust. The alternating row colors should paste correctly—if they don't, try using "Paste Special → Keep Source Formatting" in Word.
Does this work on mobile devices?
The tool works on mobile browsers, but the "Copy for Word" feature requires clipboard API support. It works best on desktop Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox. For mobile, you can select and manually copy the formatted output.
